# A HubSpot alternative for people who run several businesses

Sashimi is a HubSpot alternative for people who run several small businesses and already work from Claude or ChatGPT. Each business gets its own workspace, you run the CRM by asking your AI, and pricing at launch is per account, with seats included. HubSpot stays the stronger pick if you want a free plan or a marketing suite.

## What is HubSpot good at?

As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot wins on four things: a free tier, a large ecosystem, a marketing and sales suite in one product, and brand trust. If you need email marketing, landing pages and sales in one place, that breadth is the reason to stay.

Its pricing, as of 2026-10-18 on HubSpot's [Sales Hub pricing page](https://www.hubspot.com/pricing/sales):

- free for up to 2 users;
- Sales Hub Starter shown as $7 and $20 per seat;
- Sales Hub Pro at $90 to $100 per seat, plus $1,500 onboarding.

HubSpot's AI comes as Breeze agents, paid with HubSpot Credits: 500 a month on Starter and 3,000 on Pro, with extra credits at $0.01 each.

## Does HubSpot work with Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot has had a Claude connector since July 2025 ([BusinessWire](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20250729579309/en)) and a ChatGPT connector since June 2025, with writes added in 2026 ([HubSpot knowledge base](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/connect-your-hubspot-account-to-chatgpt)). Working from your AI is possible on both. The guide to [HubSpot's MCP server](https://sashimicrm.com/guides/hubspot-mcp) covers how to connect it.

So the connector is not what sets an alternative to HubSpot apart. What differs is the starting point: HubSpot is a suite with connectors added to it, while Sashimi has no app to learn. Sashimi's 140 tools were written for a model to call:

- **No AI credits.** Breeze agents spend HubSpot Credits. In Sashimi your own Claude or ChatGPT plan does the reasoning, and Sashimi sells no AI credits.
- **Whole lists in one call.** `create_leads`, `create_companies` and `create_deals` take up to 100 rows per call, so a trade-fair list is one request, not dozens.
- **Retries that do not duplicate.** Write tools accept an `idempotencyKey`; repeating a call with the same key returns the first result.
- **A record of what the AI did.** `list_mcp_activity` shows each AI call: who made it, which tool and what came back. The AI is held to the member's own permissions, in one workspace.

## When does a HubSpot alternative make sense?

When you run more than one business and want them kept apart, when you already work from Claude or ChatGPT, or when per-seat pricing and AI credits do not match how you sell. If none of those apply, HubSpot is a sound choice.

Take a rental business and a consulting practice run by the same person. Each needs its own pipeline, stages and contacts, and neither should see the other's deals. Sashimi gives each business its own workspace with its own leads, deals, statuses, custom fields, sequences and members. One login reaches all of them, and each workspace gets its own connector in your AI. The [page for multiple businesses](https://sashimicrm.com/use-cases/multiple-businesses) explains the setup.

You then ask in plain language, in the connector of the business you mean:

- "Show my open deals in this business, grouped by stage."
- "Add these five people from the trade fair as leads and assign them to me."
- "Which tasks are due this week?"

## What do I give up with Sashimi?

Its marketing tools, its ecosystem and its app. Sashimi is a small sales-prospecting CRM in private beta, and you should know its limits before you ask for access.

- **An app.** There is none to work in by default; on-demand screens are coming soon, in beta.
- **Marketing.** No landing pages, forms or newsletters.
- **Built-in agents.** They are switched off during the beta, so your own AI does the work.
- **Email sending without caveats.** Sequence emails go out through your own Gmail, which is beta while Google reviews Sashimi's access.
- **A free plan.** Sashimi is free during the private beta, by invitation only. At launch there is a 14-day trial with no card, then a paid plan.

## How do I move from HubSpot to Sashimi?

Bring a spreadsheet or CSV you already have and ask your AI to create the records from it. You need a Claude or ChatGPT plan that supports custom connectors; the [Claude page](https://sashimicrm.com/for/claude) and the [ChatGPT page](https://sashimicrm.com/for/chatgpt) list which plans do. On Claude Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector; members can't add it themselves.

1. Connect your AI with the [connection guide](https://sashimicrm.com/connect). Your AI app sends you to Sashimi, you choose the workspace and approve.
2. Attach the file and ask: "Create these contacts as leads, with their companies, and skip anyone who is already here."
3. Your AI calls `create_leads`, `create_companies` and `create_deals`, up to 100 rows at a time. Leads are matched on email and companies on domain or name. Deals are never matched, so import them once.
4. Clean up with `find_duplicates`; then an admin merges any pairs with `merge_leads` or `merge_companies`.

Start with ten rows. A wrong import can be deleted by an admin and restored from the trash for 30 days, but edits to existing records have no undo.

Every tool is listed on the [MCP server page](https://sashimicrm.com/mcp), and the other comparisons are on the [CRM alternatives](https://sashimicrm.com/alternatives) page. The idea behind Sashimi is on the [AI native CRM](https://sashimicrm.com/ai-native-crm) page.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a good alternative to HubSpot?

One that fits where you work, how many businesses you run and how you want to pay. If you run several small businesses and already work from Claude or ChatGPT, Sashimi fits: one workspace per business, run from your AI. If you need marketing tools or a free plan, HubSpot itself is hard to replace.

### Is there a cheaper alternative to HubSpot?

As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot is free for up to 2 users and its Sales Hub Starter is shown at $7 and $20 per seat. Sashimi is free during the private beta; at launch the Solo plan is planned at $15 a month per account, with 3 workspaces and 1 seat. Nothing can be bought today.

### When does a HubSpot alternative make sense?

When you would rather ask your AI than open a CRM app, when you keep several businesses apart, or when per-seat pricing and AI credits do not match how you work. If you rely on HubSpot's marketing tools or its ecosystem, staying is reasonable.
