# Email sequence software you run from Claude or ChatGPT

Sashimi is email sequence software you run from Claude or ChatGPT. Your AI builds a sequence of automatic emails and manual tasks on day offsets, enrolls leads, companies or deals, and reports reply rates. A step with a missing variable stops and asks for review instead of sending. Sending goes through your own Gmail, which is beta.

## What does Sashimi's email sequence software do?

It runs sales sequences from inside your AI. You ask for a four-step outreach, and your AI builds it with `create_sequence`. A sequence is a list of steps on day offsets. Each step is an automatic email sent from a template, or a manual step that creates a task for a person.

Sashimi is a CRM with email automation built in, so these email sequence tools sit next to the leads, companies and deals they write to. Each sequence has its own settings:

- **Send hour and time zone.** The day's automatic emails go out at the hour you choose, in the sequence's time zone.
- **Skip weekends.** On or off, per sequence.
- **Stop on reply.** On by default. A reply ends the rest of the sequence for that record.
- **Same thread.** An automatic step can reply in the thread of the previous email.

Your AI changes a sequence with `update_sequence` and writes templates with `create_email_template`.

## When does a sequence send anything?

Only when you enroll a record. Creating or editing a sequence sends nothing. `launch_sequence` enrolls one lead, company or deal, and `launch_sequence_bulk` enrolls up to 200 records of one type in one call. Records already in that sequence are skipped.

The subject and text of each automatic email are fixed at enrollment; later template edits don't change them.

- `list_sequence_runs` shows the sequences a record is in and when its next email goes out.
- `reschedule_sequence_send` moves one scheduled email, and `cancel_sequence_send` drops it.
- `stop_sequence_run` takes the record out and cancels its remaining emails.

## What happens when a variable is missing?

The step stops and Sashimi creates a review task instead of sending. An email never goes out with an empty variable that has no default. You fix the cause, then retry it or skip it.

`list_sequence_queue` lists the steps waiting for review, with the reason. Your AI fills the missing field on the record, then calls `retry_sequence_step`. Or it drops that step with `skip_sequence_step`, and the rest of the sequence carries on.

A retry does not send at once: the step goes out on the next send pass, about every 5 minutes. It works only while the enrollment is still active and within 24 hours of the planned send time.

Before you enroll anyone, `preview_email_template` fills a template with a real record and lists the variables that would stay empty. Give every variable that is not always filled a default value.

## How do unsubscribes work?

Addresses on the suppression list never get an automatic email. Every automatic email carries an unsubscribe link. It opens a page where one button adds the address to the list, and mail apps' one-click unsubscribe does the same.

When someone asks you to stop writing, tell your AI. `add_email_suppressions` adds the address and stops its sequence, and `list_email_suppressions` shows the list. An admin can take an address the team added off the list with `remove_email_suppression`, or change the unsubscribe text with `set_unsubscribe_text`. A person's own unsubscribe cannot be undone.

## How do I see which sequences work?

Ask for reply rates. `crm_report` returns `sequence_replies`, with enrollments, contacted records, replies and the reply rate per sequence. `sequence_steps` breaks it down per step, with emails sent, replies and stops.

A reply counts when an email arrives in a thread linked to the record after enrollment, or when the sequence stopped on a reply. Replies are picked up by the Gmail sync.

## Which mailbox sends the emails?

The sender's own Gmail, and Gmail is beta. Google's verification of Sashimi's Gmail access is pending. Until then, sending works only for approved test users, and the connection must be renewed every 7 days. You connect Gmail in Sashimi's web app; after that, your AI does the rest.

Your AI sets your own signature with `set_email_signature` and your sender name with `set_email_sender_name`. The [Gmail CRM](https://sashimicrm.com/features/gmail-crm) page explains what the sync logs.

## What can I ask my AI to do?

Write them the way you would brief a colleague. Your AI picks the tools, and Sashimi checks your role on every call.

- “Create a sequence for new agency leads: an email on day 0, a call task on day 2, a follow-up in the same thread on day 5. Send at 9:00 Madrid time and skip weekends.”
- “Enroll the leads I added this week in the agency sequence, starting Monday.”
- “Which automatic emails are stuck in review, and why?”
- “Add Ana's first name to her lead and retry her step.”
- “Which step of the agency sequence gets the most replies this quarter?”

Deleting a sequence with `delete_sequence` is permanent. It also deletes its enrollments and pending sends.

## How do I start sending sequences?

Sashimi is in private beta, invitation only and free during the beta. At launch, Solo is $15/month per account (3 workspaces, 1 seat). Nothing can be bought today.

You need a Claude plan with custom connectors, or ChatGPT developer mode on the web. On Claude Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector; members can't add it themselves. The [setup guide](https://sashimicrm.com/connect) has the steps. Then connect Gmail in the web app and ask for your first sequence.

[How it works](https://sashimicrm.com/how-it-works) explains roles, the [MCP server page](https://sashimicrm.com/mcp) lists all 140 tools, and the [home page](https://sashimicrm.com/) has the rest.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is email sequence software?

Software that sends a planned series of emails and tasks to a prospect over several days, and stops when they reply. In Sashimi your AI builds and runs the sequence through MCP tools, and automatic emails go out through your own Gmail, which is beta.

### Does Sashimi send anything when I create a sequence?

No. Creating or editing a sequence sends nothing. Emails are scheduled only when a lead, company or deal is enrolled, with launch_sequence for one record or launch_sequence_bulk for many.

### What happens if a template variable has no value?

That step does not send. Sashimi stops it and creates a review task. Fill the missing value and retry the step, or skip it. Giving every variable that is not always filled a default value avoids the stop.

### Can everyone send automatic emails today?

Not yet. Sending goes through Gmail, which is beta. Google's verification of Sashimi's Gmail access is pending, so sending works only for approved test users, and the Gmail connection must be renewed every 7 days.

### Can I undo deleting a sequence?

No. Deleting a sequence is permanent, and it also deletes its enrollments and pending sends. Only deleted leads, companies, deals and tasks go to the 30-day trash.
