How Sashimi works with Claude connectors and ChatGPT

Sashimi works with Claude connectors and ChatGPT developer mode as a remote MCP server. You add one URL in your AI app, sign in to Sashimi, pick one workspace and approve. From then on your AI reads and writes that workspace's CRM with your role's permissions, and every call is logged.

What is a connector?

A connector is a remote MCP server that you add in your AI app's settings. Sashimi's is at https://dashboard.sashimicrm.com/api/mcp. Once it is added, your AI calls Sashimi's tools whenever you ask for CRM work.

There is nothing to install and no plugin to manage. The setup guide has the steps for each app, with a copy button for the URL. Your AI does the reasoning on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan; Sashimi stores the data and applies your workspace's rules. That split is what a headless CRM means.

How do I add Sashimi as a Claude or ChatGPT connector?

Five steps, in this order. You get the invitation once. You create one workspace per business. Steps 3 and 4 repeat for each workspace in each AI app. Then you just ask.

  1. Get your invitation. Sashimi is in private beta, by invitation.
  2. Create your workspace in the short web onboarding.
  3. Add the connector. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Sashimi and paste the URL. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode on the web and create a developer-mode app for a remote MCP server; Sashimi for ChatGPT lists each click.
  4. Sign in to Sashimi, pick one workspace and approve.
  5. Ask. “Add these three people from today's call as leads, with their companies.”

We have not yet checked sign-in from start to finish on any client, Claude and ChatGPT included. If sign-in doesn't open, a personal link works instead. A personal link is a personal credential: never share it. Only personal links can be made read-only.

Which Claude and ChatGPT plans can add a connector?

Any plan that can add a remote MCP connector. As of October 2026, Anthropic lists custom connectors on Claude Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, and Free allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector for the organisation; members can't.

In ChatGPT it works through developer mode on the web, which OpenAI offers on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education. OpenAI's documentation differs on write actions for the personal plans, so check yours. Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code work too. More detail is on Sashimi for Claude.

Why one connector per workspace?

Because a connection only sees the workspace it was approved for. Your AI cannot read or write another workspace through it, whatever you type.

If you run several businesses, each gets its own workspace, and you add one connector per workspace, side by side in the same AI app. The home page shows two workspaces next to each other. Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector, so one workspace. More on using a CRM for multiple businesses.

What can my AI do in Sashimi?

The CRM work itself, within your role. Your AI picks the tools; Sashimi checks your role live on every call.

  • Bulk writes. Leads, companies, deals and tasks can be created or updated in batches of up to 100 rows per call.
  • Duplicates. Bulk create skips leads that repeat an email, and companies that repeat a domain, or a name when there is no domain. Deals are never skipped as duplicates.
  • Sequences. Creating a sequence sends nothing. launch_sequence enrolls a record and schedules its emails. Sending goes through your own Gmail, which is beta.
  • Prospect data. Apollo import and enrichment spend data credits on your own Apollo key. Your AI can ask for an estimate first.

The Sashimi MCP server page lists the tool families and the limits.

What can my AI not do?

Anything your role, your workspace or the connector does not allow.

  • Go beyond your role. Deleting leads, companies, deals and tasks, editing pipeline stages, creating custom fields, merging duplicates and managing members are for admins. Members can move deals and fill custom fields.
  • Reach another workspace. A connection only sees the one you approved.
  • Set integration keys or connect Gmail. Those live in the web app. The connector has no tool that takes a key.
  • Undo most changes. Deleted leads, companies, deals and tasks go to a 30-day trash, and restore_from_trash brings them back. Other deletions, such as an activity or a sequence, are permanent. An admin can undo a change to the workspace's on-demand screens (beta) with undo_ui_change.
  • Run Sashimi's built-in agents. They are switched off during the beta. Your own AI does the reasoning.

How do I see what my AI did?

Ask it. Every call through the connector is logged, and list_mcp_activity reads the log. Each person sees their own calls; an admin sees everyone's.

The log records the time, person, app, tool and result, without the values sent. The security page explains how roles, tokens and the log work.

What does it cost?

Sashimi is in private beta and free while it lasts. At launch it starts at $15 a month per account on Solo, with 3 workspaces and 1 seat. Nothing can be bought today.

Every plan is on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Claude connector?

A custom connector is a remote MCP server that you add to Claude by URL. Claude can then call that server's tools in your chats. Sashimi's connector URL is https://dashboard.sashimicrm.com/api/mcp, and adding it means signing in to Sashimi and approving one workspace.

How do I add a ChatGPT connector?

Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT on the web, create a developer-mode app for a remote MCP server, paste Sashimi's URL and choose OAuth. ChatGPT sends you to Sashimi to sign in, pick a workspace and approve. Developer mode is offered on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education.

Which MCP apps can connect to Sashimi?

Any AI app that can add a remote MCP server by URL. Claude and ChatGPT have a documented sign-in path in the setup guide. Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code can use the same URL. On-demand screens inside these apps are beta.

Does Claude Desktop support MCP connectors?

Yes. A custom connector you add on claude.ai works in Claude on the web and on desktop, and in the Claude mobile apps too.

What can the AI do in my CRM, and what can it not do?

It can do what your role allows in the one workspace you approved: create and update records in batches, move deals, fill custom fields, build sequences and enroll people. It cannot go beyond your role, reach another workspace, set integration keys or connect Gmail. Deleted leads, companies, deals and tasks can be restored from a 30-day trash; other deletions are permanent.
