How to use HubSpot MCP with Claude and ChatGPT
HubSpot MCP is how HubSpot lets an AI client work in your HubSpot account. As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot offers a Claude connector, available since July 2025, and a ChatGPT connector, available since June 2025 with write actions added in 2026. You add the connector in your AI client, sign in to HubSpot and approve access.

What does HubSpot offer for Claude and ChatGPT?
Two connectors, as of 2026-10-18. HubSpot has offered a Claude connector since July 2025, per its BusinessWire announcement. It has offered a ChatGPT connector since June 2025, and write actions were added in 2026, per the HubSpot knowledge base.
HubSpot also has MCP support. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the shared language that lets an AI client call tools outside the chat. Once HubSpot is connected, you ask in plain words and the AI calls HubSpot for you.
HubSpot's own AI is a separate product. Its Breeze agents, such as the Prospecting Agent, Data Agent and Customer Agent, run inside HubSpot.
How do I connect HubSpot to Claude?
From Claude's connector settings, followed by a HubSpot sign-in. The general shape is four steps; HubSpot's and Anthropic's pages have the exact screens.
- In Claude on the web or desktop, open Customize → Connectors.
- Add HubSpot's connector, as HubSpot's announcement describes.
- Sign in to your HubSpot account when you are asked.
- Approve the access HubSpot asks for.
Claude's own rules apply to any connector. Per Anthropic's help article on custom connectors, as of October 2026 custom connectors work on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and Free allows one. On Team and Enterprise, members cannot add connectors themselves; an owner adds them.
We have not checked which Claude plans HubSpot's own connector needs. HubSpot's announcement and your Claude settings show the current requirements.
How do I connect HubSpot to ChatGPT?
With HubSpot's knowledge base article open, because it has the exact steps. The shape matches Claude: you add HubSpot in ChatGPT, sign in to your HubSpot account, and approve what ChatGPT may do there.
- Open HubSpot's article on connecting your account to ChatGPT.
- Add HubSpot in ChatGPT as the article describes.
- Sign in to HubSpot and approve the access it asks for.
One ChatGPT prerequisite is general. Adding a remote MCP server by hand needs developer mode on the web, which as of October 2026 is offered on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education; OpenAI's docs disagree on write actions for Plus and Pro. We have not checked whether HubSpot's own connector needs developer mode, so read HubSpot's article first.
What is HubSpot good at here?
Breadth and reach. As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot's strengths are a free CRM for up to 2 users, a large ecosystem, marketing and sales in one suite, and brand trust. It is the CRM many teams already have, so it is often the first one they try from their AI.
Its pricing is per seat. As of 2026-10-18, Sales Hub Starter shows $7 to $20 per seat, and Pro $90 to $100 per seat plus $1,500 onboarding, per HubSpot's pricing page.
The Breeze agents are paid with HubSpot Credits: 500 a month on Starter and 3,000 on Pro, with extra credits at $0.01 each. Separately, the reasoning Claude or ChatGPT does runs on your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
If your team already lives in HubSpot, adding its connector is the shortest path to working from your AI.
What should you check in any CRM's MCP?
What the AI can do safely at volume, not only whether a connector exists. An AI behaves differently from a person clicking through an app: it sends batches, retries after a timeout and reads long lists. Ask these questions of HubSpot, of Sashimi and of any other CRM.
None of this is a claim about HubSpot, because we have not run its connector. Here is the checklist, with how Sashimi, a CRM built for the AI first, answers each point:
- Batch writes. Can one call create or update many records? Sashimi's bulk tools take up to 100 rows per call. Bulk create checks leads by email and companies by domain or name for duplicates; deals are not deduplicated.
- Safe retries. If a call times out, can the AI retry without creating a duplicate? Every Sashimi write tool accepts an
idempotencyKey. - Audit log. Can you see what the AI did? Sashimi logs every AI call, and your AI can read the log with
list_mcp_activity. Each person sees their own calls; an admin sees everyone's. - Separate businesses. Is each business its own space? In Sashimi each workspace gets its own connector, and a connection cannot see another workspace.
- Same permissions. Does the AI get more power than you have on the web? In Sashimi the role is checked on every call. Members can move deals and fill in custom fields; only an admin's AI can delete records, edit the pipeline's stages or create custom fields.
- Safe email. Will an automatic email go out with a blank name? A Sashimi sequence step stops when a template variable has no value and no default, and a review task is created instead.
When does HubSpot fit better, and when does Sashimi?
HubSpot fits teams that want a free start, one suite for marketing and sales, a large app ecosystem and a brand their buyers know. If you work in the HubSpot app every day and want your AI as a second way in, its connector is the obvious choice.
Sashimi fits people who run several small businesses and already work in Claude or ChatGPT. Each business gets its own workspace, and your AI does the reasoning on your own plan, so there are no AI credits to buy. It is one option, with real trade-offs:
- There is no app to learn: daily work happens in your AI client. A web app remains for sign-in, settings, integration keys and connecting Gmail. On-demand screens are beta.
- Sashimi's built-in agents are switched off during the beta.
- Sending sequence emails through your own Gmail is beta.
- Access is a private beta, by invitation only.
- There is no calling, no meeting capture and no integrations marketplace.
You need a Claude plan with custom connectors, or ChatGPT with developer mode on the web. On Claude Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector; members can't add it themselves. The connection steps are in the setup guide, as a documented sign-in path, and how Sashimi connects explains them.
Sashimi is free during the beta. At launch, Solo is $15 a month per account, for 1 seat and 3 workspaces; nothing can be bought today.

Where can I read more?
On the pages for each piece. The Sashimi MCP server page lists the tools and limits, and Sashimi for Claude and Sashimi for ChatGPT cover each client. For the idea behind a CRM without an app to learn, read what a headless CRM is.

Frequently asked questions
What is the HubSpot MCP server?
It is HubSpot's support for the Model Context Protocol, the standard AI clients use to call outside tools. As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot also offers a Claude connector and a ChatGPT connector, so an AI client can work with your HubSpot data after you sign in and approve.
How do I set up the HubSpot Claude integration?
Open Claude's connector settings, add HubSpot's connector as HubSpot describes, sign in to your HubSpot account and approve the access it asks for. On Claude Team and Enterprise, members cannot add connectors themselves; an owner does. HubSpot's and Anthropic's pages give the current steps.
Is there a HubSpot ChatGPT integration?
Yes. As of 2026-10-18, HubSpot has a ChatGPT connector, available since June 2025, and write actions were added in 2026. HubSpot's knowledge base article on connecting your account to ChatGPT has the exact steps.
What are the limits of a bolted-on MCP server?
A connector added to an app-first CRM was designed after the app, so check how it handles batch writes, safe retries, permissions, an audit log of AI calls and separate businesses. We have not run HubSpot's connector, so treat this as a checklist, not a verdict on HubSpot.
