A CRM for solopreneurs

A CRM for solopreneurs should take less time than the spreadsheet it replaces. With Sashimi there is no app to learn: you connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and talk to it. Your AI adds leads, logs calls, moves deals and tells you what is due, and each business you run gets its own workspace.

What does no app to learn mean in practice?

It means you never open a CRM screen to keep your pipeline current. You connect Sashimi to Claude or ChatGPT once, and from then on you ask in plain words. Your AI calls Sashimi's tools to read and change your leads, companies, deals and tasks.

Sashimi's connector has 140 tools, and your AI picks the right ones. You do not need to know their names. When you write "I just spoke with the owner of Bluebird Bakery", your AI creates the company with create_company, the person with create_lead and the opportunity with create_deal. When you ask what is due today, it reads your pending tasks with list_tasks.

Your AI is the assistant. It can also log calls and notes, create follow-up tasks in bulk and move a deal to its next stage. For freelancers, that means no CRM screen to keep current.

What do I need before I start?

An AI plan that can add a custom connector, plus a beta invitation.

  • Claude. Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans can add custom connectors. Free allows one. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it.
  • ChatGPT. Developer mode on the web, on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education. As of October 2026, OpenAI's documentation disagrees on whether Plus and Pro get write actions, so check your plan.
  • Sign-in. Your AI app sends you to Sashimi, you sign in, choose a workspace and approve. There is no token to copy. The connection guide has the steps, and there is more on how the connector works.

Sashimi is in private beta, invitation only, and free during the beta.

How do I set up Sashimi for a freelance practice?

Ask your AI to shape the basic pipeline a new workspace comes with. Owners and admins can have their AI add, rename and reorder statuses and stages, and add fields, with tools such as create_status, create_deal_stage and create_custom_field.

None of this is preset in Sashimi. Ask, and your AI builds it.

  • Lead statuses: New, Contacted, Call booked, Proposal sent, Client, Not now.
  • Deal stages: Enquiry, Quote sent, Accepted, Delivered, Paid, Lost.
  • Custom fields on deals: Service (select), Deadline (date), Deposit received (yes/no).
  • Custom fields on leads: Found via (select: Referral, Website, Social) and Next check-in (date).

Custom fields can be text, number, date, select or yes/no, and every one can be filtered. If you run a second business on the side, give it its own workspace. The page for multiple businesses explains how.

What if my AI makes a mistake?

You can see what it did and fix it. Every call from your AI is recorded in an activity log, which you read by asking for list_mcp_activity. Deleted records go to the trash and can be restored for 30 days. A wrong edit is corrected by asking your AI to change it back.

  • Duplicates. Bulk creation of leads and companies checks for duplicates first.
  • Retries. Write tools accept an idempotencyKey, so a retried call does not create a second copy.
  • Read-only. A personal connector link can be read-only, for when you only want to ask questions.
  • Your data stays yours. You can export leads, companies and deals as CSV at any time.

The security page has the details. Selling for clients rather than for yourself? See the pages for agencies and consultants.

Prompts to try

  • What do I need to do today?
  • I just spoke with the owner of Bluebird Bakery. She wants a website refresh for about 3,000 euros. Add the company, her as a lead and a deal.
  • Mark the Bluebird deal as won and add a note that the project starts on the 1st.
  • Which leads are still in Contacted? Create a task to follow up with each of them on Friday.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best CRM for solopreneurs?

One you will keep using: quick to update, no setup project, and a price that makes sense for one person. Sashimi fits solopreneurs who already use Claude or ChatGPT and would rather tell their AI what happened than fill in forms.

Does a one person business need a CRM?

When you have more leads and follow-ups than you can track in your head or in a spreadsheet, yes. A CRM keeps the next step for each lead and reminds you of it.

Is there a CRM for freelancers with no app to learn?

Yes. Sashimi is used from your AI chat: you connect it to Claude or ChatGPT once and then ask in plain words. You do not need to learn a dashboard to use it.

Which plan fits a solopreneur?

At launch, the Solo plan is planned at $15 a month, with 1 seat and 3 workspaces, and 20% off when paid yearly. There will be a 14-day capped trial with no card and no free tier. Sashimi is free during the private beta, with 60 days' notice before charging, and nothing can be bought today.
